Spring 2026 Dress Rehearsals
Thursday, May 7 and Friday, May 8
Dress Rehearsal Schedule
Our dancers rehearse shows in order as much as possible, which allows them to practice costume changes, prop use, entrances, and exits just as they will on show day/night. This structure helps build confidence and ensures a smoother performance. Dress rehearsal days start early. We understand this may require some dancers to leave school early. The schedule has been carefully designed to minimize this need. We know dress rehearsals are long days, but once dancers complete their performances, the rewards are well worth the effort!
1. Soloists & Special Parts Rehearsals
Rehearsals begin with soloists and auditioned parts.
During this part of rehearsal, each dancer has about 10 minutes to rehearse on stage. If you are a soloist or special part and cannot make your “private” rehearsal time, please contact Ms. Colleen at colleen@tdanceconn.com before April 8.
Later, during the full show run, these soloists/parts will rehearse their dance once in costume.
2. Full Show Rehearsals
After soloists & special parts rehearsals, we begin rehearsing in full show order (including the one run through for soloists and special parts).
Call Times & Dismissal
Dancers are assigned a Call Time (time you must check in before a dress rehearsal or show), and is based on the section of show they appear in. Please use the Show Class Assignments page found under Show Information/Performances to find this information. If you are assigned Shows A your dress rehearsal is on Thursday, May 7. If you are assigned Show B your dress rehearsal is either Thursday, May 7 OR Friday, May 8. If you are assigned Show C your dress rehearsal is Friday, May 8.
All dancers included in the same scene are given the same Call Time so if we run ahead of schedule, we have all the necessary dancers.
After finishing the stage rehearsal, dancers go directly to the picture room for costume photos. Parents of younger dancers will wait outside the theater in a designated area. The photography staff will escort dancers to and from this spot.
For dancers with multiple parts or costumes-Carefully look at all of your call times. Depending on the space between call times, these dancers may need to take pictures after completing all stage rehearsals to avoid missing their cues. After completing a rehearsal on stage, dancers must return to the lobby in the next costume at the appropriate Call Time.
o If there is significant time between Call Times, dancers are encouraged to do homework in the Parent’s Lounge or quietly watch rehearsals from the theater. Dancers under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult.
o If dancers miss a Call Time because they were practicing on stage, they should quickly practice their costume change in the dressing rooms/wings and return to the lobby or wings.
Ms. Josephine will be stationed in the lobby and available to answer any questions.
Duration and Punctuality Reminder
Please plan to be at dress rehearsal for approximately 90 minutes. However, dancers will be released after their pictures are taken.
Dress rehearsals run on a very tight schedule. Please arrive on time to ensure you do not miss your cue. Unfortunately, we are unable to delay rehearsals for late dancers, as doing so affects the entire schedule. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
