Auditions
Saturday, March 28 at PACE

Dancers enrolled in semester-long classes participate in performances with their class. Auditions are for special roles, and are open to dancers ages 6+. Please see the Audition Sign Up for a list of expected roles this year (*subject to change depending on auditions).

Rehearsals for auditioned roles are on Saturdays, April 4-May 2, between the hours of 12:30-5:00, location and specific times tbd. Once roles/parts are accepted, dancers are expected to attend all of their rehearsals. A detailed schedule will be emailed along with the casting email.

  • $75 audition fee (covers rehearsal time + costume rental). Pay online only—no cash/checks.

Audition schedule:
Arrive 15 minutes early to check in and complete paperwork. Dancers should audition with their age group.

  • 1:00–1:45 pm: Ages 6–8 (ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap)

  • 1:45–3:05 pm: Ages 9-11 (ballet, modern/contemporary, hip hop, tap)

  • 3:15–4:45 pm: Ages 12+ (ballet/pointe, modern/contemporary, hip hop, tap)

What to wear

  • Girls: black leotard, pink tights, ballet and/or jazz shoes or foot undies, tennis shoes for hip hop, tap shoes

  • Boys: black and white dance wear, ballet and/or jazz shoes or foot undies, tennis shoes for hip hop, tap shoes

  • Hair pulled back; minimal accessories. Stage makeup optional.

What to expect

  • Dancers check in, receive a number, and complete judges’ sheets.

  • In studio: learn short choreography + across-the-floor work, then perform in small groups.

  • Teachers evaluate technique, stage presence, and musicality.

  • Parents may watch from the lounge.

Casting

Results and rehearsal schedule will be emailed. Acceptance/decline deadline is included in the email.

Video auditions

If unable to attend, submit a video (under 2 minutes) by March 28 to colleen@tdanceconn.com.

  • Start by stating name & age.

  • Show skills in chosen style.

  • Submit via Google Drive.

  • Sign-up form + audition fee are still required.
